Get that suntanned look and a great moisturizer all in one
Sadly the sun has turned into a big enemy when it comes to beauty, despite its necessary Vitamin D-providing properties. With the scares of the ozone layer and skin cancer, prolonged sun exposure really should be avoided – and apart from that danger, too much sun can make your skin look aged.
However, since the tanned look is still very trendy, Oil of Olay has come up with products to not only combat the signs of aging, but add a beautiful sun kissed glow to your skin at the same time.
One such product is called Oil of Olay Touch of Sun Daily UV Facial Moisturizer in the US (Olay Complete Everyday Sunshine Face with SPF 15 in the UK), which is marketed as giving a “sun-kissed glow”, with the added protection of an SPF of 15. So it is not just a sunless tanner, but is also a moisturizer as well. It comes in two shades: Light/Medium, and Medium/Darker. Because I have medium skin tones, I chose to try out the Medium/Darker shade to see what effect it might have, if any.

To use, put a dab of Olay Touch of Sun Daily UV Facial Moisturizer onto your fingers and dab it lightly on your face where you apply moisturizer, and blend in, then ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly. It took me a couple of days to work out exactly how much to use – the same amount I normally use for my other moisturizer turned out to be too much, so this is an economical product in that sense. And you can alwasy apply the excess product onto your neck and blend it in. The formula is light and non-greasy and goes on very easily and smoothly, and carries a light scent that is very feminine, but not overpowering.
The packaging says it will take a few days for the sun-kissed look to appear, and that was my experience. The fact that I use their Regenerist line for skin polishing every morning may even have delayed the effect, but I have no complaints with this product – within a few days, my glow appeared, and it really is a pretty, tanned look. I certainly don’t spend nearly enough time outside to have acquired the tan any other way!
I was genuinely happy with the result; Olay Touch of Sun Daily UV Facial Moisturizer looked very natural, and nobody would guess it was from a sunless tanner. And even better, the moisturizing properties on my face actually DID last 24 hours, as promised on the packaging. That is even better than my standard day cream moisturizer (also an Olay product).
Overall, I highly recommend Olay Touch of Sun Daily UV Facial Moisturizer to anyone if you are considering a sunless tanner for your face. The effect is subtle at first, and then noticeable within a few days. And it is very natural and will blend beautifully with any other makeup you decide to wear.
