An item that is licensed organic should consist of 95% minimum organic components. A product which is certified to contain organic components needs to have at least 70% of these components organic, ie it should be free from herbicides and pesticides during cultivation. Once again there are some items which do meet the level of 70% natural components, however are not accredited either since the business doesn't desire to, or due to the fact that of the cost and bureaucracy of applying for certification. In a body lotion which is natural however consists of primarily water, the glycerine might not reach the 70% organic active ingredient level to apply for certification. Truly natural, botanical and aromatherapy products, will – like natural items – avoid specific active ingredients.
